It was with great sadness that the members of the Missing Salmon Alliance heard of the death of Her Majesty the Queen. With the River Dee running past Balmoral, the Royal Family would often be found fishing during their summer holiday at the castle. A passion passed on by Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. That passion was shown when earlier this year, she kindly gave permission for the art installation, Salmon School, which had taken centre stage at the COP26 conference in Glasgow, to be displayed at Balmoral. Our thoughts are with His Majesty the King and the rest of the Royal Family at this time. Her passing is a profound loss and like the rest of the country, we will remember her with huge fondness.

As an Alliance of six organisations, we will build on the existing work of our partners and maximise our impact by taking a coordinated approach and vital action in order to halt and reverse the decline of wild Atlantic salmon.

The goal of the Missing Salmon Alliance is to build an evidence-base to influence national and international decision-makers to regulate activities that adversely impact wild Atlantic salmon.
