Missing Salmon Alliance

Technical Steering and External Advisory Groups

The team that works behind the scenes on the science

Chaired by an independent consultant, the Missing Salmon Alliance Technical Steering Group (TSG) is comprised of a group of highly qualified scientists from the partner organisations who meet regularly to advise and assist the Principal Investigator on scientific and technical matters concerning the delivery of the flagship project, the Likely Suspects Framework (LSF). This core technical group is extended through the formation of an external advisory group, with invitations being extended to experts from other organisations to participate and allow a wide range of expertise to be made available to the MSA. Participants in the external advisory group bring varied expertise to assist with the development of the LSF, including ecology, fishery management, oceanography and data science.

Advice and guidance from the TSG and external advisory group are vital to the development and success of the LSF project, which hopes to provide fishery and river management with the necessary tools to help fight declines in Atlantic salmon.
